Carpe Diem

Saturday 3rd August

Littlemores are a York based, four piece guitar band.

'Brass and northern brilliance in the lyrics' Jenny Eells (BBC York Introducing)

'Intelligent guitar-pop with a beating heart and lyrics of astute intelligence. They say what they feel, not what convention dictates, and therefore their music carries an integrity and honest embrace that is sorely missing from most current UK guitar bands. The softer side of Arctic Monkeys; the stonier path of The Maccabees. - Highly recommended'. David Edwards - Drowned in Sound

'Within minutes of Littlemores opening their set at The Cockpit they’ve grabbed the crowd’s attention. From the opening blasts the songs bound along with well measured guitar accents adding depth to tracks carried high on a tight rhythm section. Expertly delivered despite the best efforts of an unruly mic stand, it feels like the music world could do much worse than seeing more of these lads. Tom Aspbury' - Counterfit Magazine @ The Cockpit

They have had plays on BBC 6Music, BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 1 and are currently midway through recording their second EP.

Are a new Leeds based 4 piece indie outfit who are causing quite a stir in the city at the moment. With dreamy guitar riffs and bass to match the drums bring the whole thing together in quite a unique way. Being described as quite `Foals` esque this band are set for big things, though they are not looking to be touted as the next foals or any other band for that matter, they are four totally individual lads with different ideas and it all comes together with ease.

"certainly a band to watch out for" - ESP magazine.
"sounds like it was recorded in 1979... its like some lost treasure from the last revival" - Heavy Soul fanzine's review of 4 track demo EP.

The Blueprints

The Blueprints continue to evolve as great song-writers and masters of thrilling shows. Eschewing the grim careerist posturing of many of today's bands, they exude joy and humour, an experience that translates easily to audiences who become happy participants in the live arena.

Crisp melodies weave amongst spacious, percussive guitar textures, drums flail and spin, and pianos punch the tunes home with hook-laden basslines. They set the pace and only let up for singer Stu's charmingly wayward banter between songs. Melody, harmony, rhythm and big tunes are all things you'll find at a typical 'Prints show........which are rarely typical......

The Scandal

The Scandal have a sound that’s very unique in this day and age, they are not ones to conform with set standards, they push the envelope and we aren’t complaining, they have produced a sound that’s very funky but at its core is pure and simply blues rock.

Their music wouldn’t be complete without a heavy dose of bass guitar and drums. George’s vocals give the songs that extra edge, alongside the strong, punchy guitar riffs and the heavy drums beats, what more could you ask for. Their music just makes you want to get up and dance, being very much fun and vibrant, which makes for a great live show.
