Baby Jupiter is the coolest bar in town. Fact!
After spending many years trying to preserve our underground status, we have now reached a point where too many people have succumbed to the Baby Jupiter charm and therefore resistance to the inevitable wave of popularity is futile.
So we're rolling with it, and you lucky folk are invited along for the ride.
With the giant can of worms having been severed open by the inquisitive beaks of the masses, people are uncovering the cities most arty, musical, bohemian and culturally significant time capsule to drink in.
Modelled on a time of free love and free spirits*, the ethos remains to this day, and if you don't laugh or smile for the duration of your stay, we will give you a jagerbomb at the bequest of Mr Keith Moon, who sits proudly watching over the bar in his posthumous role as Chief morale officer.
* (NB spirits are not free, but competitively priced)
Ironically located in the heart of the financial district, the utopia provides an escape for the cities top businessmen, who could well find themselves chatting freely to some of the cities finest musicians or artists completely unbeknown to them. Your background is not important, and as long as you're here for a good time and good music, everybody will raise a glass to you.
Its almost like Leeds version of "Cheers", we should, in fact rename it "Taa" or "Cheers luv". I'll put it to management.
The music is as diverse as the beer range, but don't expect to hear dance or trance, or any other chanes, well, maybe romance. Aside from that, expect the unexpected, but revel in sounds of the Rolling Stones, The Kinks, David Bowie, The Strokes, The Black Keys, Tribe called Quest, Fleet Foxes, Clap Your Hands say yeah, and Amadou and Mariam.
A new monthly live music night has already seen some of Leeds finest bands shine resplendently underground. The Pablos, Tag-Team Preacher, The Bacchae, and The Executioners to name a few.
World beers, friendly cheer, open ears....and we're most sincere. Baby Jupiter, Welcome to our world.
There will be fringe events on Friday and Saturday night at Baby Jupiter
